After SHS I attended Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia, majored in math, and graduated in 1979. Worked as a programmer at Insurance Company of America (INA) in center city for two years. Moved to Branford CT in 1981 and started a new programming job in New Haven at United Illuminating, the local electric company. Fast forward to 2015. Still working in the IT department of UIL Holdings (parent of UI and 3 gas utility companies). Married Jonathan Gerolami in 2001. No kids, one dog (Prince), one cat (Stella), and six koi in the backyard pond.
